The first edition of Recovering The Self, a quarterly journal which explores the themes of recovery and healing through poetry, memoir, essays, fiction, humor, media reviews and psycho-education has made its debut and available in print. Areas of concern include aging, disabilities, health, abuse recovery, trauma/PTSD, anxiety, and depression.

Contributors from five continents provide a mirror of the experience of peoples of all cultures and beliefs. The premier issue explores a number of areas of concern including: ·

Resilience and trauma recovery ·

Healing the inner child ·

Journaling and grief

· Forgiveness

· Lyme Disease ·

Fibromyalgia ·

Substance abuse

· Military families ·

Nature of gender

· Children and trauma

· and much more!

Paige Lovitt, Reader Views most prolific self-help reviewer writes, “I highly recommend a subscription to Recovering the Self Journal for professionals who are in the counseling profession or who deal with crisis situations.”

RTS Journal is also looking for contributors on these subjects for future issues. Article lengths are suggested to be from 1,000 to 4,000 words, although RTS can be persuaded to other treatments if the story needs it. Deadline for issue #2 is September 1st, 2009, so don’t delay.
